Love the combination of splitboard and sandals in the same pic
Your end of season reports made me rethink my definition of "season" (there's snow all year round only some miles away...) and join a local mountaineering club which does touring long after my old definition of season ends - I've no talent if it comes to reading maps and I'm lousy in orientation so I'd never go on my own.
So yes, thanks for sharing - it is an inspiration

The Last 3 Final Days of the Year.
After 3 attempts, Im officially done with riding for the year. I bagged my 100th day on memorial day and had a good enough ride down that I was OK with calling it a season.
Great Basin NP
But as the snow got patchier, more roads got opener and I was tempted by the easy access.
I was lured out of retirement once more this last weekend for one last ski trip to the stansbury mountains. This route could be done as a day trip but how much fun can you really have with a light pack??
After about 12 hours of bushwacking and bivouacing, we were at the top and ready to make our final turns of the year.
After a few thousand sun cups and a couple emergency self arrests followed by some silky turns, make my way back to the car and put my board into storage.
Twas a fun season. Till next year...
