Ok, dude, not to be a jerk, but that question has been answered three times in this thread already. See post #10, #11, #12. Additionally, a link on that direct question was provided. I have no problem helping people, but you take some of the responsibility and read the answers people give you.

ok, than you can prolly get away with rounding the edges on your effective edge also. But like I said before, go slow. try it bit as is, and then detune some more if you don't like, etc.

What kind of riding are you going to be doing on this board? And don't say "freestyle." I mean, jibs, kickers, pipe, local high school, etc.

God, no! If you take the metal off the board, your going to have a LOT of problems. You basically want to take a file and round the metal edges so they are not "sharp." I would advise that your take a file to mtn. Ride a bit and see how your board is. If it seems too "grippy," then detune a little bit. Then ride some more. If this is still not enough, do some more. The problems is that if you go too far with it, your going to have a really hard time trying to fix it. Go slow, and you'll find a good spot that works for you.

sedition I'll echo the above two posts: you should detune the nose/tail of ANY board. Here is an article from TWS about how/why to do it (nothing that hasn't really been said already).

As for freestyle, there is reason to detune not only the nose and tail, but also the effective / running edge. However, there are few things to be mindful of about this. First, it you do it too much, it can't really be reversed. Second, you often need a sharp edge to hold a line when riding an icy 1/2 pipe (or any transition for that matter). If you don't have one, pipe riding can get dicey. Last, if your doing a lot of butter/jibs, then your going to want almost no edge, as to avoid hang-ups. The balance between all of this, is for you to decide.
