Mr. Right Well it may be a cheap band-aid for a real problem but when I used to play ice hockey we would wrap athletic tape around the top of our skates when we were done lacing up to help keep them from loosening and to help protect the laces.

KIRKWOOD-$LUT i would go back and be nice
sugar gets you farther than horseradish

booyakasha i guess i can fight with the guy..but in chicago, there's only 2 or 3 stores dedicated to skiing/snowboarding (besides Dicks) so having one unsatisfied customer is no big deal. Us cityfolk are assholes. hahaha. Oh well, maybe i can sell it to one of my friends or try the strap things. As of now, i have no cash flow to pay for new boots so i'm stickin it out. Thanks sucks but boarding is still fun nonetheless.

sevenvii WEll, maybe for the first guy. But my boots really do fit, its just as the day goes on I have to keep retieing them because the strings loosen.....and I would love not having to strip of my gloves and go heaving and tugging on my strings to get them tight again.

lisevolution I agree in general with Kirkwood... it's just going to be a temp fix but the bigger problem lies in bad boot fitting

KIRKWOOD-$LUT called boosters, still will not work
i would fight with the shop to get the right boots
in our shop we guarantee everything

sevenvii That helps me, I was thinking of some kind of solution that would just make my boot stay more tight around my high shin and calves, I tighten the laces up quite a bit but they gradually loosen themselves with all the fowrard bckward shifting. A BoA boot would be perfect, but thats not in the cards just yet, so these power straps may be the thing. or huge zip ties that i could just snap off when im done

lisevolution I guess I just didn't understand what you were asking me in your PM, now that I've read this post it makes more sense to me. I know back in my inline days they used to sell velcro straps that you could add to the outside of your skate to make the ankle section much stiffer and supportive, I believe they were called "Power Straps". I'd look around for something like this as that would definitely fix your problem better than duct tape!

booyakasha sorry for taking so long to thank you guys for the suggestions. the boots work a bit better with the inserts but there's this retarded counterproductivity. My heels don't come out but the boots around the mouth area gets bigger because there's added resistance by the heel shims. Ha. Duct tape it is....Fixes everything from snowboard boots to bombs.

And just a helpful suggestion for yall. Never buy from a high school snowboarder who says "stoked" and "awesome" to describe everything from snowboard products to existentialist philosophy. Stupid guy was like "yea, i like my boots a little loose." dumb little turd.

I'll try the foam thing but i just need to make the top part of the boot tighter. Maybe i can't tie my laces right? Ha.

colortv but then again socks were always seen as a bad idea except by like one guy lol. Foam will probably work.
