I prefer gloves over mittens. I could never get comfortable with the "trigger finger" idea but my buddy swears by it.
I used to ride with mittens because it was the "cool snowboarder" fad. I have since realized that life is much easier with gloves (strapping, unstrapping, adjusting gear/goggles, etc) and never went back to mittens. We ride in single digits with very cold wind chills and my gloves perform perfectly well.

It's my first time heading west, so I don't know what the temperature will be like. On the east coast, I'm usually okay with my gloves down to around zero with some -4 wind chill.
I really want these bad boys (Alpha SV Glove - New / Women's / Arc'teryx), but I need to rob someone first.

I prefer gloves, but my hands aren't super easily chilled
If you really can't decide, get trigger finger gloves.
Mittens are generally warmer but you lose a lot of feel for stuff
Regular gloves are awesome if you can keep warm.
I just got a pair of Level gloves that rock....
Really only you can decide if you need mittens or gloves

Mittens or gloves...
Figure they'll be used in Montana, maybe Jackson, Utah, perhaps Colorado...
I need something that goes higher up my arm than the gloves I have now (which work great on the east coast where everything is effing ice). I just can't decide between gloves and mitts. Thoughts?
