qUikSiLvEr If you narrowed it down to those two, go with the LibTech. The magnetraction on it will be great for the ice and the hardpack snow on the east coast. Also, it has great flex and isn't as stiff as I thought. Basically, all your wants will be met with this board.

Snowrax After more research I've narrowed it down to the K2 Darkstar 149 and Lib Tech TRS C2BTX Slim 148. Any opinions on these two?

Also, I saw a post where someone mentioned Lib Tech measures their length longer, so subtract ~3. I assume this is because their measurement includes the curve from tip to tail. Example, a 148 Lib Tech is closer to a 145 standing straight with no curve included. Can anyone confirm this is accurate?

Board for shorties (lightweights)

Hi Folks,

Time to stop renting so I'm looking for some recommendations and feedback for my first board. Slightly less choices since I'm lightweight and prefer freeride but freeride boards tend to be too long for me. The shorter boards I've researched tend to be geared for park which I'm not interested in yet.

Stats:
-Male
-125 lbs
-5' 3"
-Age 30s
-Boot size 7.5
-Freeride. No park.
-Intermediate skill level
-Mainly groomers and ice on east coast
-Normally ride 144 from rentals as my comfort zone
-Demoed 142 Nug, 148 Custom Flying V. The 148 felt too long for me as it was more challenging to turn, but I'm willing to try 148 again since I was experimenting with stance width and angles that day. The 142 was fun but I'm still looking.

Want:
-Stability at higher speeds
-Grips ice
-Ease of turns, can still flex considering my weight
-Allows me to continue progressing to advance

Candidates:
K2 Darkstar 149
Ride Crush 147
Bataleon Evil Twin 147
Capita Stairmaster 144

Been lurking here for a while and finally registered. Appreciate any replies. Thanks
