Ride Antic review

I am reviewing the 2011 Ride Antic. I rode the wide, size 158. Apparently the 2011 model of the Antic is almost identical to this year's model. Setup included 2012 Burton Cartel bindings and Nike Vapen boots.

Pros: I love it. This board is perfect for me. I'm an intermediate rider who sticks to the groomers. This board is fast and stable. Got tons of speed while bombing sections of various slopes, but always felt in control. Only fell about three times over three days of riding, with no big spills. Especially impressive since I was riding the east coast in mid-December (mostly icy, man-made snow). No noticeable chatter, at least none at the speeds I was cruising. Didn't hit a ton of jumps, but handled all landings with ease.

Cons: May not be the most durable. I already have various topsheet scratches, and two semi-deep scratches on the base. Of course, the base scratches are probably due to my icy riding conditions. Also, the graphics aren't mind blowing. The look is pretty conservative, especially with all the kids who are sporting bright, color-coordinated setups. But this wasn't a big deal to me.

Conclusion: A great board for any level rider, from progressing beginner and up. A great value, especially if you can snag a deal on last year's model. Can't wait to wax it up and go again.
