valerka Thanks, got the Compact, now need to set-up the Ride Contrabands properly, there quite a few adjustments that can be made.

lilfoot1598 Both are great boards for beginners. I would go with the Compact if it's a later year and a better deal.

K2 Luna or Ladies Ride Compact for a beginner

Hi, my girl wants to get in to snowboarding as she has really liked it after trying it for a few hours, so now I've been given the "pleasure" of choosing, and of course purchasing her first board with all other necessary equipment. Her measurements are 5'7", 125 lb and size 10 boot. I've narrowed down her board size to be anywhere between 147 - 149 cm.

The two local used choices I've found are as stated above, K2 Luna (i think pre 08) and the Ride Compact (2010 as far as I can tell by the photo)

So far I am leaning towards the Ride Compact as I was able to negotiate the board plus Ride Contraband bindings for $160 all in.

The K2 Luna asking prices are $130 -$150 with no bindings.

I already got her Vans Women's Snowboard Boots in great condition for $40.

What are your thoughts guys/gals, any recommendations?
