Toecutter I store my boards in the garage hanging vertically by the bindings on hooks -- no problem even after sitting placid all spring/summer/fall.

eelpout OK, as expected, most of you think I'm a moron making too big a deal of this. I'll just crank down the screws to make sure they're tight.

And yes, I call my mom every morning to ask what I should eat.

david_z think about what you put that board through on a daily basis hanging it in the closet probably should be the least of your concerns.

ETM Worst case = remove the binding. 4 screws, no big deal. Also makes it less attractive to a potential thief.

idshred Do you need help deciding what to eat for breakfast?

Argo Who cares? Let them hang it... They don't wan the mud and water dripping everywhere.

PanHandler in that case just leave it in your car, or take it into the room without them seeing you.

Snowboards in a vertical rack, hanging by bindings?

Need to vent and maybe you guys can tell me if I'm wrong about this.

Staying in a place in the Sierras that has a "no boards in room" policy. I get it, I'm sure they think we will wax the boards in them... which of course we would. I've encountered this before, where they have horizontal racks you toss your board in and they stay level. Don't have a problem with that. This place though, only has storage vertically, where there's two long bars on either side deep enough where you could shove about 4 pairs of skis in between. Skis reach the ground and will sit on the rubber mats they have underneath. Snowboards on the other hand, if you leave the bindings on, have to hang by one of the bindings because there isn't enough width for the board & bindings both to fit. I know the act of boarding itself puts a lot of torque on the screws, but I don't like the idea of there being this angled pressure on them overnight like this.

Am I over thinking this and it's no big deal?

I see this is as another instance of something being made for skis that we boarders have to put up with.
