I know that other peoples opinions ultimately don't matter, but I was really looking for "this is good" lol more like anyone who's had great/bad experiences with certain bikes and why. This will be the first motorcycle I own just trying to rake some research from a few different sources.

After riding all 3 of the ones I mentioned. Here's one I'm gonna put an offer on:
2007 Yamaha R6
most of those bikes are about equal in performance. Comfort not sure about. My buddies CBR was much more comfortable to ride then my Ninja. I would try to ride each one as much as possible to try to get a feel for each of them.
Sounds like you made a choice though and an R6 is a good bike.

We'll have to hook up at Tyrol for some riding

Yeah it's scarey what people will do to a bike! My R1 was a bone stock 2005, had one owner before me and he only put 2000 km and an alpinestars sticker on it. Other than that it was untouched when I bought it. I rode it for about 10,000 km, did nothing to it other than tires and oil, then sold it after a large speeding ticket (under Ontario's "stunt" driving law).

Fast forward a few years and a buddy at work calls me up and says "did you used to own an R1?" Turns out he bought it some 3 owners later, and he saw my name on the previous owners list. I saw pictures of it and it was all riced out. My guess is somebody dropped it and decided to repaint it flat black el cheapo when they repaired it. Cheap little turn signals, etc. It's too bad because the thing was gorgeous when I owned it!

Here was the R1 a few days after I bought it...

Here's the FZ6 as it was brand new...

And after I crashed her and decided to repaint black (myself) I also embedded some yamaha logos under the clear coat... I think it was a reasonable non-butcher job! lol

This guy speaks the truth... Anybody that says that one is way better than the other has some rose coloured glasses on. The big 4 Japanese companies bikes are, and have been in very close competition for so long that with any one of them you're getting a great product.

I happen to be a Yamaha guy myself, owned an FZ6 and R1, rode an FZ1 and an R6 at various stages of the game (a long with a lot of other bikes).

Personally I wouldn't buy a supersport anymore. Can't get going fast enough to enjoy them where I am, and I find them uncomfortable to ride slow. I'll probably get an FZ1 or Fazer 8 as my next bike. Still not sure...

For what it's worth, I spent 25,000 km learning on the FZ6 and looking back I'm really glad I did all that time on a sport touring with just a little less power than an R6. More comfy bike and I got to explore it's limits more than I would have on a supersport.

If I remember right we've talked a while back.

I'm in the area of Alpine so that is my home hill. They added a new high speed quad so now they have 3 and that helps. Like every where it bit bad. I still got 35+ days riding in, my kids a little more. Even Granite Peak struggled with snow issues. The UP did well, they had good snow early and late in the season.

Olympia has hired some great guys to run the hill that used to work at Tyrol Basin and they are really turning that place around. Mainly an all park hill now and some good jumps. With the bad snow they were making tons and kept their park in as great of shape as possible.
Speaking of park Alpine is so/so again. Some really good days, most not. They had a great jump line but as usual got ice and sketchy. If you a great rider it didn't bother you but us beginner it matters.

Not sure if you ever rode Little Switz but the owners of Black Jack in the UP bought them and they will be reopening this season as well. They have a deal on their season passes, all 3 of their resorts on one pass: Black Jack (Iron Mountain UP MI) Nordic Mountian(Wild Rose WI) Little Switz (Slinger WI) great deal if your able to get around

Where you gonna move to??? Maybe we can get some runs in together this year??

sil3nt Are you looking at new or used?

Peoples opinions don't really matter. It's down to what fits you best. None of those 3 bikes are bad. It's pretty hard to buy a bad sports bike these days.

Try them and buy the one that feels the best. Fuck what other people think of it!

Justman1020 I rode a CBR 600 for a LONG time, I have riden many bikes, (Zx6R, 636, R6, Fzr 600, ninja 650 R, suzuki sv650, and some harley's) and by far in my opinion the CBR was by far my favorite.

To be fair, I didn't know it was an R1 at the time. I knew he had bought an R1 but he painted the whole thing and it didn't register until I asked him where the R1 was..

Also off topic, but Slyder I am originally from WI and I'm moving back next March, but how was the snowboarding season there with the lack of snow?
