poutanen +1 to casual... The other big difference is sensor size...

Your DSC-HX1 has a sensor size of 1/2.3", while my old Canon EOS 300D (original digital rebel from 2003) has an APS-C sized sensor, which is many times larger. A larger sensor can capture more detail in low light, as well as sharper pictures in full light.

DSLR has a lens and a prism, this just has an image sensor. Technically speaking it has to do with how you preview the shot through the image finder, slr cameras gave you a true frame where all other cameras gave you a slightly different view from beside or above the lens. Digital cameras now mostly have the same view as the sensor has so the definition of what makes a DSLR better now has changed a bit. It gets defined by quality, sensor size, crop factor and accesories. But the end all definition here is no mirror = point and shoot.

dslr camera

ok so hey guys i have a camera i wanna sell and i know someone needs one for summer and next season. it is a sony cyber-shot hx1.

comes with case batery and charger, cable, and memory card. i never took this camera up boarding so i dont have any snowboarding pics. it takes amazing fotos and hd recording. trying to sell it for 310 plus shipping. the camera is like 90% condition. the play putton fills sticky but works 100%.
also i bought a snowboard from a member but i dont think hes on here much. so iv been down this rout befor. i just want money for a better camera.
