Glad to hear I'm not alone. I definitely have a fear of heights, or more specifically, falling from heights. Like Snowolf, I'm fine in airplanes (though unlike him, I'm not a pilot) or anything enclosed, but open balconies, edges of cliffs, or even floor-to-ceiling windows make me extremely uneasy.
With snowboarding, it has held me back on jumps. I have yet to clear the knuckle on a 20 footer, while my son who started riding at the same time first did it two seasons ago. When I first started, I also had to avoid looking too far down the mountain or I'd freeze up and almost get vertigo. Chairlifts used to make me uneasy, though experience has gotten me comfortable since.
On the other hand, I have been to the top of a couple sailboat masts, which I'm fine with as long as I'm securely in a climbing harness. I'm also fine with jumping off cliffs into water, though I haven't done any huge ones. I guess my fear of heights really is only related to accidental falling.

I love getting air, but I am scared of man made jumps. I ride around and jump stuff, it's my favorite. The lifts do not scare me much unless they bounce more than usual.
I don't mind jumping off cliffs or bridges into water. I will go in a tree house. I was a good tree climber as a child and would climb up on top of the barn. I had the top bunk.

|wrathfuldeity||I don't particularly enjoy height but can do them especially if teathered...but a radio tower blowing back and forth...no. Though no problems in tall buildings, flying...the smaller the better and ultralight or glider would be way cool and I would love to try jumping out of a plane, bungee or do the flying squirrel suit.|

|john doe||Thinking about it, no. There are moments that scare me, like being on an unsecured ladder, but I easily get past it. Being in a harness and tethered off I would have little issue going out on a building. I have stood at the edge of a 60ft cliff with my toes hanging off just for fun. I will say they my first time to a real mountain the height of the lifts did shock me a little at first. Going downhill in a high lift was freaky the first time. In St Louis the lift is 30ft high at the max.|

|NWBoarder||Heights don't really bother me much. Never really have. However, getting to someplace high can freak me out depending on how you have to get there. Ladders are the sketchiest things ever IMO. The bigger the ladder, the less I wanna go up it. But, I've climbed up plenty of crazy ass ladders, and I've been to some pretty damn high up places.|
