philadendron Normally, my favorite is SLC but my boss lives there and was just out at Alta two days ago. He said it's decent, but coverage is still an issue and it's not worth making a trip for.

philadendron Mammoth. They are opening the entire mountain today. 100% open, and that's a lot of terrain. I was there last weekend for the storm and they got dumped on. On-mountain lodging is cheap if you do the packages.

Once there they have busses that go around town.

There are also busses that leave a few days a week to go to other mountains in the area like Kirkwood, Northstar, Mt. Rose and Squaw Valley:

This. Opening all lifts and trails this Fri. Already 113" of snow fall this season at the base at main lodge (almost half of last season's crappy total of 263"), and usually get 20+% more snow on top. The 18.5 foot tall sign post on the top is almost covered- about 4 feet remains uncovered.

It'll probably easier to access Tahoe and Utah, but these are easily the best current conditions in the west for sure.

sk8_choco21 What streetdoc said, Tahoe got a HUGE storm last weekend, i was going to go myself but there were road closures and wind shut downs, but after the storm passes it should be pretty sweet, Sierra-at-Tahoe got like 55".
