Simply^Ride Ideally with your feet size you want a board that accommodate as much of the foot inside the board to avoid foot drag. The Ideal size of the waist of the board should be around 258, the never summer you are looking has a width of 256 I believe. That might be a bit narrow and therefore you could see some amount of drag probably from the heel or toe side.

As for the size a 161 sounds good to me, but you need a wider board. All manufactures have wide versions of their most common board/boards.

As I am all the way Rome rider, I am going to recommend the Rome slash 16, its a great board that you can grow on and advance into a better rider. The board is the wide version of the Agent that is what I have. Or if you want something a little stiffer you could always go for the Rome Flag, it's more toward an all mountain board than the Slash is.

But note never summer is a great company and they make incredible boards, just note that their boards tend to be a little stiffer than other brands. The premier looks like a good option for you, but I am not sure about the mid width.

Buying first board

Hello. I'm looking into buying my first board and wanted to get some opinions.

I'm 5'11" and ~190-195lbs with a size 12 shoe.

I have about 2 weeks worth of snowboarding experience. I've only boarded at Snowshoe Mtn, WV but I've done well on all their slopes except for their double black diamonds (haven't tried them yet).

I'm mostly interested in freeriding with an occasional jump/hop here and there on the slope. Maybe a time or two, I may venture into the terrain park to see what it is like but I don't plan on making it my focus.

Anyway, I've got my eye on the NS Premier board 161cm.

Premier \\\\ NS Factory Built Denver, CO

Opinions?

Will the board be wide enough for my shoe? (Is there a chart for shoe size versus board waist?)

Any other recommendations?

Thanks for your time!
