|ETM||Im actually stoked the sparks dont have carbon highbacks. I wouldnt have bought them if they did. Failures in the resort are one thing but miles out in the BC are a nightmare, plastics are much more durable.|

diodes ride perfect. i'd maybe improve the durability and adherence of all foam padding on the highback and footbed. i'd use a slightly harder but tougher foam or rubber.
Burton Bindings - mad props for your partnership with Spark R&D. would love to see the carbon highbacks turn up there too if its possible with the metal heelcup - Karakoram offers CF on their higher-end joint.

Ill give you some feeback on the diodes. They need a strengthening cross member at the top of the highback. As they are now the top of the highback is extremely vulnerable to being knocked and chips very easily, once chipped cracks start to propogate and you know the rest.
I love my diodes, but I constantly fear breaking the highbacks again. I even remove the highbacks during travel and take them with me in my carry on luggage cause one knock is all it takes and they break.
Also the stick on pads that act as a barrier between the highback and the heel cup, they dont last long.
I fucking love the way they ride, but they are fragile mofo's lol.

Holding them in person I was actually impressed with the torsional stiffness of the highback. I thought they were going to be wet noodles compared to the C60 highback but not so. They feel about 90% as stiff as the C60 highback.
Also the toe caps remind me of my 2011 C60s, I actually swapped those onto the 2009s and vise versa. The 2009 heel strap and 2011 toe cap was a good combo. It looks like the Diode keeps the best of the two C60s before it. I'll be trying them out tomorrow so we'll see!

so we said, fuck all that, it needs Jenny Craiged. So we argued what's important and we argued in grams. So yes it is simple, either by consolidating/integrating features into a single part or just eliminating them because this customer generally doesn't care about them feature.
I.E. Formula 1 cars doesn't have CD players in them.
