Skateboarding in Summer?

I am trying to do everything possible to get ready for the season.. And I am jsut wondering if I sohuld invest some time in skateboarding?
How much would it help? And what exactly should I try to accomplish on a skateboard to help for my snowboarding?

Thanksss
