|Mooz||They can see if you've made recent purchases even if you paid them off. That's really what they're looking for. A steady history of GOOD activity.|

well credit reports dont show charge and payment history do they?
the ones i have on freecreditreport.com only show various amounts of debt and amount of credit available
unless im not looking at the right thing
and i do try to put at least one thing a month on one of the two i already have and then pay it off in a month or two

i have my third credit card on the way
come thursday, i will have a zero balance on my other two
my only goal with them is to build credit, my score is already decently high, but i want it higher
and since i dont make much money, i like the idea of having them around in case of an emergency

I have a AAA card, and they've treated me just fine. The rewards are fine, I'm looking at 25k for a free round trip flight anywhere in the US. I use it just to build credit and eventually get a free flight.
I know it's been said before in this thread but it deserves a thousand repeats: be careful. I have friends who make almost or as much as I do that never have an extra dime because they got buried in credit card debt. And when you're pulling extra shifts so you can pay the interest on food you ate 14 months ago, you'll be hating life. Get one credit card, and never spend more than you can pay off that month, unless it's an emergency. Just use it as an extra step to your bank account to get the benefits, and you'll always be fine. When you start thinking that you have that 10 thousand in credit to spend, instead of what you have in your checking, that's when you get screwed. And credit card companies are not gentle lovers.

|BurtonAvenger||Thanks for the heads up. I've been wondering about them since when my buddy signed up for his he got 12 months no APR but when I talked to him a week ago he said he was getting hit with interest. Oh well worlds going in the crapper I'm looting the lexus dealership.|

FYI on the Best Buy rewards zone card. I picked one up recently and was using it for the normal crap. Gas, food, etc. Anything that I normally would have put on my check card. Well after only a week, HSBC decided to adjust all the terms on my account. The credit limit the intrest rate everything. They also deleted my online account access so I had to set it up again. I called them up and asked what the hell the deal was and they said I used it as a debit card so they decided to adjust everything (I must have hit debit instead of credit at a grocery store or something). When I pointed out how retared that was, the lady on the other line decided to cop an attitude. I paid the balance there on the phone and cancelled the account.
I also just finished cancelling any HSBC account I have. Obviously they're in some sort of nasty credit crunch and are taking it out on their good customers. (Note I've never ever been late on a payment, never held a high balance or went over my limit on any account with them). I'd suggest avoiding them. Especially if you actually plan on USING the card.

|BurtonAvenger||^ They started offering crazy ass rates on stuff and catering to the European market. Plus a vast majority of what I do is custom boot work so I'm pretty secure in that. Let alone from what I heard today our biggest competitor in the county is so fucked on paying accounts they're probably going to go under. Which means more money for me!|

|Simply^Ride||^^^^ Not sure how that is working out for most people. But in total honesty this season there's no way I can travel the way i used to in previous seasons. I am looking at maybe on trip if that, so I better make sure its a good one to the most out of this season. But then again Summit is big in tourism, so I guess is one of the last places to skip on tourist cash.|

Ok cool then I've had one hard pull this year and thats it. Well I thought I was going to be effected with the economy, but evidently people want to go skiing and forget the whole we're in debt and the country is going down the crapper, so as of 2 days ago I'm pretty set for work, infact if anything I'm working more hours now. Crazy how that works out.
When I look at how much I have in expenses vs how much I make. I can easily balance out with cash to spare. So in the long run unless the economy takes another direct hit I know I'm good right now.
