To be fair, it is obviously not easy considering the cost structure on the production end, how easy it is to make copies (perfect ones these days), etc.
Still you know you are looking at a really fucked up situation when the train wreck that is the distribution model for snowboard gear looks relatively healthy by comparison...
One thing I hate is enriching record companies, after seeing how they've operated since the 80s onward (don't have much experience before hand, but I take it they weren't quite so rapacious). I will not buy music from Apple or Google for the above sentiments.

I will do whatever I can to avoid them. The ideal situation for me is when my favorite bands sell a CD/MP3 Download combo directly on their website. I get to actually support the band, even if I'm not able to make a show (which is happening more frequently with age).

I'm not saying I disagree with paying artists for their work, I'm just saying the ridiculous prices the labels and iTunes have come up with drive people like me away from downloading music. So we just listen on youtube and go to concerts instead. You can buy good tix for what it costs to download a few albums!!!

And even here people don't seem to think around big trucks.

Seriously, my main goal on the highway is to avoid the Semis (and make them not have to slow down).

Nah man, MSE is live protection, but since its made by Microsoft, it's pretty lightweight on resources and runs in the background. I emphasize protection and resource use equally. MSE very highly rated as virus protection software goes; imo better than avast, AVG, and Avira. Uses less resources than the other 3 too. I just have a standard scan set for once a week, just because I'm anal.

Malwarebytes isn't live protection, but it's one of the best pieces of spyware/malware software in the business (and free). Like I said, I just schedule a scan once a week on it. It doesn't run on my system the rest of the time.

I absolutely hate live spyware protection like Spybot Search & Destroy, always popping up and bugging you and hogging resources. Malwarebytes is better anyway.

And note, once a week is probably overdoing it. I'd be fine with once a month. But again, I'm anal.

Interesting. So there's no live protection? I've completely overlooked this .....
