Salt Lake City - Cottonwood Area Restaurants

Not sure what your idea of "nice restaurant" is...

But if you like Mexican at ALL, you gotta stop and eat at Lone Star Taqueria (on Fort Union Blvd near 2300 East). It's a lunch, early dinner type place, and they have incredible, huge burritos that taste amazing! I don't know if they still do it, but they used to give you a discount off your order if you show them your ski pass / tag with that day's date on it.

Porcupine Grill is at the base of Big Cottonwood and has tasty "pub-style" food and enjoyable apres-ski atmosphere.

Another Mexican place with good food and portions is Pistol Pete's (also on Fort Union). They'll give you a free "frosty" at the end of your meal if you know to ask. Tell Wally (the owner) that Channa referred you!

A Five Guys Burgers and Fries just opened up near Fort Union and 1000 East.

I'm also a big fan of the food at Chili's Bar and Grill -- only about 5 minutes further drive down Fort Union (all of the above are close to Big/Little Cottonwood Canyons).

On 1300 East at around 8000 South is a Sports Pub - Can't remember the name of it but ate there once and would fulfill any need you have to watch sports while you eat...

Places to go out around Salt Lake City?

My friends and I are renting a house in the Cottonwood Heights area outside of Salt Lake City, about 15 minutes from Brighton/Snowbird/Solitude. Anyone know of nice bars and restaurants to go to in that area or in SLC? We can go to Park City which is about 45 minutes away, but something a little closer would be preferred.
