Just wanted to dig this back up and share some stoke, my grandfather (who basically was my father growing up) has been a die-hard UFC fan since the beginning and a boxing fan well before that. He has met a few fighters and has watched some fight nights live, but nothing too big. I decided to surprised him with tickets for UFC 203 in Cleveland tomorrow. Really wouldn't have mattered who was fighting to either of us, but with it being a heavyweight title fight and a Cleveland native defending, it doesn't get much better!! Beyond stoked!! Will be sure to post up some pics of the fight afterwards!

some time ago I was also 30lbs leaner and could dunk, so fucking what? Now I can't reach the rim, just the net with both hands
And that bisping almost KO was a fault of the judge, who was hesitating to interrupt or not to interrupt the fight, because bisping lost his mouthpiece. Ofc it's bispings fault he thought the fight being interrupted to put his mouthpiece back, but nevertheless, he ate that bomb while being distracted. He had no problems with Andersons punches when focused.
Deacon, it's fair fight then, but it's definately easier to knock someone out cold, when you have 30% more power. Good luck seeing a knockout in 3year old taekwondo match

Numerous fighters who ha e trained with Lawler say he's the hardest puncher they've ever felt. Have you noticed all the guys getting popped for PEDs lately? USADA hasn't cleaned up the sport, it just means more of the cheaters are actually getting caught. The last four guys Lawler has fought (Hendricks, Condit, Matt Brown, and McDonald) are all notoriously tough with great chins. There are exactly 4 TKO losses put of 117 combined fights for those guys and one of them was a blown knee (Condit), not actual strikes. Lawler brutally KO'd Ellenberger in his first UFC fight.
Silva isn't the guy he used to be, but he very nearly KO'd the current champ in his last fight before Cormier. Many people felt that fight should've been stopped. Who has he KO'd? Vitor Belfort, former LHW champ Forrest Griffin, Yushin Obama, former MW champ Rich Franklin (twice), one of the best chins in MMA history in Chris Leben.
Good lord, man...

|kosmoz||lawler is also not a one punch KO artist, but that doesn't mean that he is no threat on the feet. He mushes you up and makes you quit, thas guaranteed, when those one punch KOs may never come. How much of these we saw with Nelson, Hunt. If it connects - you are done. If not - bisping wins|

With Silva, there was no threat of wrestling. Jones is a very good wrestler himself and actually outwrestled Cormier in their first fight. You can bet that Cormier trained hard to make sure that wouldnt happen again. On the feet, Jones isn't a big power guy. He rarely hurts guys with punches or kicks. His best strikes are elbows - both standing and on the ground.
Anderson is as proven of a KO artist as there is in MMA and never shoots for takedowns. Jones wins fights through physical domination. He has relatively limited ability to finish in an instant. That's exactly what Silva does as well or better than anyone who has ever fought. The guy can end a fight instantly at any point. Seriously, they're VERY different fighters.
I don't know why you're trying to give Silva a total pass here. If he wasn't in shape, he shouldn't have taken the fight. He showed up to get paid and limit the damage that he took, period. I bet at no point in negotiations did he offer to take less money since he wasn't in top condition...
