hardasacatshead It does vary by board but with your weight I'd suggest a 157 is probably going to be a bit big. You should probably be looking for something in the 145-150cm range.

Quick question on picking a board size

I'm new to the sport and will be casually boarding once in a while. I am looking to buy a board of my own and found one on craigslist. Its a good deal cause it comes with boots bindings helmet and goggles but the board size is where i am suck because ive never bought a board before. The board that I am looking at is 157 cm length. I'm going to look at it tomorrow to see if im going to buy it or not.

foot size: 8
weight: 130
height: 5'7"

I probably wont be going in the park or doing anything big on it besides maybe a small jump like the basic ones on the regular slopes. would a board that size be too big?
