Bones I've done the same thing with graphite wax: the base gets black botches.

The more you wax, the deeper it gets in there. Numerous hot scrapes did next to nothing and neither did base cleaner. I mean, they were having a marginal effect, but it was obviously going to take many multiple applications to make the base pristine again.

So I said, screw it and rode it. Wax is wax

if still not coming out you might need to do several hot scrap to pull old wax out of the board.

SnowDogWax Think the wax might be the problem, the dye in the discolored board.

lab49232 Believe it or not I just saw a board that had this exact problem. It was a white based Gnu Street Kills and the kid had waxed it with a red wax, scraped it and the wax had absorbed so much into the board he couldn't scrape it off. Brought the board to me to see if I could fix it. Almost looks like a color bleed from the base graphic but after some serious scraping I got some more red out but it's still there. (Ignore the excess wax you see, this is before I gave it a thorough scraping.
