White spent YEARS dominating slopestyle, hence his countless slopestyle titles including 5 gold medals for slopestyle in the Winter X-Games (+ another at Winter X Games Europe). His focus the past few years has been on superpipe, but I have no doubt that if he plans on competing in slopestyle, he'll be training hard and will be legit competition for McMorris in Sochi.
I agree to an extent. However it was often close in slope for him. He was the best obviously, but he fought for it year in and year out. Halfpipe on the other hand was given to him by the hands of God apparently. It's just unnatural. I remember watching his record run at Xgames while at my hotel during the demo Day at SIA two years ago and the entire bar just going completely quite after. Just unreal.

AKA Brady and Manning, Jordan, White, Ronaldo etc. etc. Sure getting private parks, halfpipes, etc built for you by Redbull helps you progress faster than other riders but it doesn't make him a worse rider, that's for sure. He has never dominated slopestyle but back to back to back double corks will have him competing with anyone in slope and as far as Halfpipe goes, he still has probably 9 of the 10 best runs of all time in the event. Call him a douche all ya want but the kid is just freakishly talented regardless of how he got there. Frankly I'm fine with him leading our snowboarding team because if you want gold you need White.

Sorry bud, we all know he's got the gold on lock for the US in superpipe, the fact that he's learning triples in slopestyle now means Mark actually has competition on that front.
Jordan didn't really get individually challenged for a while. Basketball is a team sport, even with him not performing at 100%, he could still get the team to win using different skills........ slopestyle, you need to personally be on top of your game always, to dominate. Very different sport.

Also, many other riders do triples already, so it's not as if Shaun is the only competitor against Mcmorris, in fact... he is not even his closest competitor at the moment. Mcmorris is totally DOMINATING slope style.

White is still comfortably ahead his competitors in pipe though... even if he doesnt have Scotty Lago's style.

tonicusa He will grow his hair out and regain his Samson strength. And go on to develop the worlds first triple backside buttplug in competition.
