12/13 Rome 390 Boss Heel Hoop Help

Hello

I recently got some K2 Maysis boots in US12 (follow the saga of getting to that point in the boots forum). Anyway, before i was running some size 14s and so the heel hoop was on the biggest setting. Now i have a US12 i think this heel hoop should come into the middle setting.

The issue is that when i do this i am sure that there is just too much toe overhang compared to heel. To make matters more complicated although the binding says 11-12.5 on the setting i have the instructions say 10-12 for the medium setting and 12+ for the L setting, well where the hell does that leave me if i actually have size 12 bang on!

I think the Maysis has a larger than normal footprint so should i just keep them on the L setting or should i go to M, or should i stfu and just try both and see if i like it? (go gentle on me).
