Dcp584 I used to own a 15m kite setup, still have the 3m trainer. I used to ride it on a mountain board and cruise park fields. They are fun just to fly the kite, but I have to agree understanding your kite(s) and wind characteristics is key to staying safe with this stuff because as you can tell it can go sideways real quick.

Kevin137 That is why kites have a release to allow the wind out of them...!!!

We have a lot of areas where you can kite here in Norway, including the Fjord at the bottom of my road when it is frozen... But Kite size is something you really do need to understand along with the winds that are in the area...

And most importantly how to control the kite in just such circumstances...!!!
