neni Can't help much with the boards you've listed... Haven't ridden the Carbon, can't comment on that one, but the wooden Flagship would serve you well as long as not in moguls. Hubby is about to order a Carbon (long story ), so I'll know more soon (hopefully). He did demo the XV and wasn't overly excited about the extreme magtec carving on soft groomers, it really digs deep.

I would add Volkl Coal to the list. (Coal and Flagship are no fun in crud; if you want more of an all day board, Custom X and Raptor are good options less of a pita in crud; look for the recent review of the Raptor in this forum to get an idea, what would be doable).

BigmountainVMD I would add Arbor A-Frame to that list.

Nivek This isnt quite my forte but I can speak of a couple of the boards youve listed.

The XV is more the other side of freeride than what youre talking about. The softer tail is gonna give too much for you throwing trenches in groomers. While you probably wont hate it and it is a great deck, I think youre better off elsewhere. The Carbon FS is only really beneficial to you if you're hiking A LOT. Otherwise just get the standard construction and avoid the stress of having to baby a $1200 deck.

The Donek and Palmer, I no nothing other than Donek is one of the brands still making BX boards and Palmer was quite loved back in the day for their stiff camber carving boards.

Deciding between 4 freeride boards!?!

Hey Everyone,

I'm a freeride snowboarder through and through- I've been riding for about 8 years now and I'm all about the carve and laying down lines i the groomed! ( mt snow, loon, cranmore, brenton woods, jay peak, killington) are a few places I go to and I have decided its time to upgrade!

Im looking for a stiff freeride board that I can use with "soft boots" I want something that is known for making good boards and have quality in their structure.

I'd love to get ppl's feedback on the boards below! I'm 5'7 155 lbs

- Jones Carbon Flagship
-Rossi XV Magtek
-Palmer Crown LE
-Rome Antem
- Donek Razor

Thanks!
