I can do that type of stuff on mine and really don't find it to be that heavy. I guess it is all that extra width making yours feel like a boat. The x really has tons of pop for launching stuff and I do 180s and 360s off hits on it sometimes. But I do love just straight launching it, so poppy and helps stick landings. While the x is one hell of a freeriding machine, it is a freestyle board after all, just not a park/jib board.
You ought to be able to get a good price selling yours and find a new board. They did reduce the weight on the new x and if you go with a regular width and maybe a little shorter, it should be great for you.

For me is fun doing 180's, riding the switch, sometimes olies. On this wide boar I can do it but at the end of the day my back hurts as hell becuase of the weight of the board. I do not need to have wide but unfortunately I have one.
Now I am looking for something not wide and smaller.
Guy who start up the thread with size 12 probably needs wide one but this is not my case. At the end it is all about personall preferences, so that is why I want to borrow board from some ski rent or friends before I decide which one to buy(at least sizing). But in the ski rents there is not so much stuff above 160.

You don't want this board that wide with size 11, even if their chart says so. That is why you're not liking that much, not the length. At 220 pounds, you should be on the regular width 164. 160 maybe, but that is small for your weight on this type of board. If your "fun" means doing presses and stuff like that, this is definitely the wrong board for you altogether. I like to have some "fun" sometimes also, but I have a completely different style board for when I feel like messing around.
I have ridden the 168 at less than 220 pounds and it is good at that weight. Unfortunately, they no longer make anything that long. If I get back down to 190-200, I will probably look into getting a 164. But their current sizes suck. 165 wide is a little wide for size 12, while the longest regular width x is slightly narrower than my 168 (25.4) which is already almost too narrow but just about right.

|vajohn||Regular width custom x 168 (25.4) is fine for size 12, unless the boots have a huge footprint. 26.1-26.4 should be fine for 13 on this type of board. 27.1 really is a boat for an agressive freeride board even with 13s. Pantera 169 w is for giants with 14 to 15 feet.|

I'm 6'1" 240 and rode a CX 164w for several seasons. Also had a size 12 malamute at the time and it was wide enough for me. The length was also fine and really didn't notice much difference between it and the longer freeride boards I've owned in the 165-170 range.
I've also owned a pantera 166w. The wide was too wide and I found turn initiation difficult at best. Only rode it a few times before I had to sell it because of that characteristic.

If you can get into a size 12, get the custom x 168. 164 is going to be short unless you drop about 30 pounds or more. They did make a 168 wide at one time I believe, possibly the same year as mine. But good luck finding one.
That Pantera looks pretty sick. 27.1 width on the 169 wide should be plenty wide for 13s, but a bit wide if you can get into size 12.

Seems a little short to me.
Nitro Pantera- comes in 166 and 169
Arbor Watchtower- comes in 167
K2 Slayblade- comes in 166 but has blunted tips(longer effective edge)

See if you can fit into a size 12 in a boot like the hail. I wear 12.5 to 13 sneakers and size 12 hails. I could probably do 11.5 after they packed out. Other boots on the market also minimize foitprint and let you go a little smaller.
I have the 09 x and have been up around 250, down to 190 and back up to 230+ since owning it. You wiil be very happy with it. Custom is a good deck also but not as great as the x for that type of riding.

|Comerford95||Size 13 boot. I looked into the custom which does come in a 168 but Im just not sure that its stiff enough.|
