rambob X2 "Yep. You get pretty much any snowboard, put a good wax on it and point that bitch straight down a steep hill, you're gonna go fast. Like Ricky Bobby style."

linvillegorge All hail the terrifying "black trail"!!! Scary shit!

NSXRguy Take a shitty board (no wax needed), go down a black trail, point the board straight down without turning. Any board will go down a black trail pretty fast when pointed straight down...

The question is... Are your balls big enough to hit the absolute limit of the board on a black trail...

speedjason wax, tuck down for better aerodynamic. and a pair of steel balls.

CassMT wax is critical for the 'maintaining speed' part, across flats and on the cats, that's when you really notice (the skiers receding in your rearview)

24WERD +1 on the wax.

use racing wax like hertel FC739

and structure the base correctly.

Haha, this reminds me of something funny I heard on the mountain.

Kid (to grown-up guy): "How did you get here so fast?"
Guy: "Well, more weight = more speed"
Kid: "Wow, you must be FAAAAAA.... st"

I like riding well and in control, and I think speed will also come eventually (I'm getting there). But like others have said, good wax job, steep slope and don't turn... even if there's a tree... don't turn :P
