Born and raised in Rome... I used to ski back then... Then I tried an old Lib Tech in 98 before leaving... bam!
Love the WRX too.. 160 K and counting. Changed the brake pads once.
Go for it! I'm not crazy about the new 14 WRX/STI design.

I have moderately stiff bindings on my '13 Fish and it does just fine. Very fun board in the pow for sure!
But for hard surface or icy or hard charging, I grab a different board.
Jones Flagship or Rossi XV do great in powder and great with the harder surfaces too. (don't be afraid to size up with either of these because controlling the board feels like it's shorter than true size).

cambered Arbor A-Frame ( similar to your T6, fast and stiff) and a J Jones Hovercraft for pow. The "Craft is actually pretty good on groomers too, nothing like the edge hold of the A-Frame, but it will take you were the powder is. Or you can look at a J Jones Flagship, that is more an all-mountain board.
I tend to get up there early and snatch the untracked snow... and switch to the camber board later... if I still have legs left.

but my old cambered T6 (2008) is not so much fun to ride in powder!
here in Europe you sometimes have to do the hard work first and ride down some icy stuff to get to big untracked powder .... best example over here is La Grave !
have U ever ridden a Banana Hammock or a "Jones" Board ??

because there is a lot of terrain like that in the Alps !
and why not ask somebody about, who has ridden that Board !?
i have a Travis Rice 2012 in 157 and 164,5 for Alpine Terrain but looking for something that is more easy in pow !
...and the question was: is the Fish more versatile with a stiffer binding ? or is it against the determination of the Board to much ??
kind regards !
