tallows Cheers for the replies, I mailed Rome and they said it was part of the manufacturing process, so panic over.

You have no problem at all.
I think this guy is right. Based on the location of the seams and the symmetry of the joints, It looks like they used short sections of edge for the more mellow bend inside the swallow tail. Most likely it was easier to make it that way than to use one piece for the more drastic bends in the pocket of the "v" and the outermost points of the swallow tail.

Yeah, treated me pretty well. Very fast through the powder, hardly any back leg burn and surprisingly good on the groomers too (it's a 164 and I'm 5"9).

I'll take your word for it mate!
Thought I might have given the board a bang at Sapporo Teine, a place I imagine he's familiar with.

tallows Thanks for the replies!
Trashed my first ever board ten years ago by smacking sideways into a rail, so may be paranoid about the edges.
I've attached another picture...the gap in the edge seems to lead into a kind of small cut in the base but...maybe this is just how swallow tails are made?

tradnwaves4snow im not sure if its a huge issue mate. but i'm sure others here will correct me rather quickly and brutally if i'm wrong. my edges have maybe 4-5 similar cracks on both heel side and toe side. i think the cracks for me anyway are caused by doing rails. besides the cracks my edges seem fine, no burs or change to the shape at all.
