killclimbz There are no kill shelters outside of the cities that have the breed ban. Right now that is looking like the best option to find him a home. We are planning on taking him to one of those on Monday or to a rescue if we hear back from one. Either way he should be safe and find a home.

Looks sooo much like my old pit. All my friends kids loved him, they thought he looked like a tiger.

Not the greatest time for me but if it comes to this dog getting destroyed, I can possibly take him, though in NY.

We nabbed him literally seconds before the dog catcher showed up. Evidently my neighbor across the street does not like pits. This has been noted.

I get why the ban is here. Fucking assholes caused it. If the dog isn't aggressive they should be allowed to go out of the city.

I've gotten a lot of responses here. Thanks for the help. I am crossing my fingers that we have something figured out by end of day today.
Let me know if you don't. I'll come get him tonight if I need to.

snowklinger I'm pretty sure Denver's law is just a proxy to legalize prejudice against pit owners, which I think most of us can agree on :P

BigmountainVMD Maybe there is a pit bull rescue in another town nearby?

I'm willing to pitch on neuter costs. I'll actually be riding in the Vail area starting next week. It's a shame I don't have an externship in the area or I would be able to neuter him for dirt cheap.

Whoa there, a little behind the times, are we?

killclimbz, I hope you find a way to save the poor pup. I unfortunately can't take him in because there's already a kitten here (not mine) and I'm constantly moving and in no way have the time to take proper care of a dog. But if all else fails, I can contact the SPCA here, they are very good and maybe we can figure out a solution. Just as last ditch effort, but I'm sure someone will come up with a better option (or already has, thanks stickz!)

Pit bulls are fine here, I used to live with one, sweetest dog ever! Except for the tail whacking :P But no, really, I liked the dog better than her owner.
