That's terrifying to say the least! I hope everyone recovers... and it must suck to have a season end like that.
I don't really mind that they frequently close stuff at Squaw because of high winds. Better safe than sorry! I mention this because I almost did get stranded at the top yesterday due to lift closure (it was storming pretty nicely). Good thing I've progressed enough to take the whole run down without problems by now...

The only reason a chair would be swinging so much is because of high winds, and that being the case the lift should not of been running...!
We have safety training at our local, and they must be able to empty the lift, 4 man, with 136 chairs, so possibly 272 on the lift at any one time, and they must be able to do it in 30 minutes...
Got to love the health and safety of Norway...!!!
It is strange how it works though, as we have an electrical powered lift, with a 2ndry diesel backup, so we they cannot run the lift in temps lower than -19 as the same health and safety says that is the lowest operating temp for a diesel engine... Haha
I do hope everyone is ok though, i know that a swinging lift is pretty frightening...

|wrathfuldeity||Yikes...few weeks ago...the wind blew the chair I was napping on into the tower...woke me right up...never thought the cable would fall off the tracks though.|

That's just across the lake from me - really scary stuff!
Seems like a freak accident. I can't understand why the empty chair was swinging so much
