|Triple8Sol||I bought COD 2 months ago for XB1 but didn't even take it out of the plastic until last week. I do prefer the old MW's but it's still pretty addicting and I've been racking up the hours since. Had to force myself to not play today by waxing/tuning 3 of my boards. Still haven't opened BF4 yet, which I bought on the same day as COD.|

|a4h Saint||Blacks Ops 2 had the right idea pushing e-Sports game modes. They should of done it ages ago! It will be a great game if they push it back towards the competitive side again.|

I've been hooked on Battlefield since Bad Company! I've played all the COD games and it just seems like the same song and dance game after game...Something about the all out war of Battlefield with all the planes, helis, and tanks and being able to level buildings is why I prefer it over COD. I think the last COD game I bought was the first Black OPS. Unless the COD can bring something to the table comparable or better than BF, I won't waste my money. Although, the same ones that made COD also made Titanfall. It's pretty damn good...something different for a change

I wouldn't call myself a camper, I have certain spots I feel safer in, so I'll run and gun carefully to a spot. Stop, look out, maybe get a couple kills with the Lynx, then switch back to handguns and carefully run and gun to my next spot.
The problem with my loadout is I'm great at a distance, and I'm great in close, but if a person is within say shotgun to SMG range and I'm out in the open, I'm fucked. So I have to be careful and stay hidden, or carefully clear areas before running through them.
The R5 I find a good mix, I can still get long distance kills with the thermal (across the castle map from the burning houses to the left side of the castle as viewed from the outside), but it's also great at the medium range stuff. Occasionally I'll use the thermal in red-dot mode, in the more close range maps.
After I prestige with the Lynx, I'll probably play a whole prestige level with an SMG, or Machine Gun, and then another one with a shotgun, etc. I figure it's the only way to force myself to get good with the different classes of gun!
It's always fun stuff!

I just love sniping...!!! Really winds some people up, been called every camper name under the sun, which does make me laugh when using a sniper rifle...!!!
My favourite is the Prison map, as i can snipe people in the tower from the opposite end of the Map while in the bushes...!!! It really winds people up...
My best kill streak is 35/0 but that is with kill streaks, so it only showed as 20 on my shots... Hehe

On second thought, the previous may be a bit of a thread jack. My apologies, if anyone is interested in what was said feel free to start a new thread in the off-topic section and post a link!
More on topic, with ghosts there was a lot of migration of players when ghosts released because of the change in gameplay style. The bigger maps really pushed away a lot of players and pulled in some newer ones. The maps are bigger to try and add some variety, which it succeeded in doing. I also believe it has something to do with the spawning system in the new game. A lot of the maps, the big castle one comes to mind immediately (sorry name evades me), have a spawning setup that would make a small map nearly unplayable. Tremor is another. The spawn boundaries are very hard to predict and setup around, which when looking at a map like stadium, causes spawns right behind people sometimes. That fact makes it is easy to understand why they moved towards bigger maps. That is simply an assumption though, based upon my experience with the map mechanics.
Something I believe really hurt Ghosts was the removal of the 3-lane style maps that have become so popular in the competitive gaming arenas. The maps are more random, more unpredictable, which isn't necessarily good for structured competitive play. As someone mentioned earlier though, the map pack has slightly righted this (and map size), and I think is the right step towards a happy medium for more players.
I agree, I think titan fall is a flash in the pan. Hopefully it leads to a new style of FPS in the future, but its current model is just not varied enough for it to be a long running franchise like CoD. Not saying CoD isn't repetitive, but it has in game variety that ups its replay value. I also agree with bparmz, CoD4 was the granddaddy title that led to all this. They need to make an anniversary edition of it like they did with halo ce. Keep everything identical, and just overhaul the graphics.

The reason you probably are seeing some K/D improvements is due to the above factors. They are making you play more passive, therefore less rushed, bad decisions, and less deaths overall. Something like the L115 will suite you much better in the long run and I personally use the USR due to its mobility advantage. The R5 is a solid option to stick with especially while you are progressing, though I would recommend taking off the thermal and using some 2 attachment variance of either a front grip, muzzle brake, and red dot.
As for the non-primary weapon stuff: secondary's and grenades are preference; however, I'd be willing to bet you will see better performance from dropping them and getting additional perks. If you do want them, p226 w/ brake is OP, use it! I would only use tactical grenades not lethal. Perks: Ditch all those perks. Amplified is really good, too good, it makes you basically impossible to kill. It also teaches bad habits that will make you terrible when your not using it. In public matches you want 2 things, the perk that hides you from sat-coms and either a suppressor or movements. Typical players flock to any red dot they see, so don't put any up. That alone will drastically reduce your deaths. With extra points grab some speed perks, the two perks that make you ADS faster are almost mandatory.
There are a lot of factors being ignored for the general tips above, primarily game mode, user ability, and opponent skill level. For the most part though, it is pretty useful. Use it as a template, and add or remove what suites you. These are not just competitive tips, they are useful to any skill level. Sucking is never fun (unless it your first day of snowboarding) and winning is always fun!
If this was unwarranted or overkill, I am sorry. I have played a lot of CoD in my years, and have some competitive tournaments under my belt. I hate seeing people trying to get better and playing based upon bad info or assumptions they heard from some whack job in lobby. If you guys don't mind the long post, I would be happy to offer up other tips or answer some technical questions! Happy Slaying!

I've also got a few alternate loadouts with the same Secondary, Perks, etc. but a Remington R5, Thermal, Muzzlebrake.
