ekb18c What I've been doing lately is to pay and check in my board. It cost 2 bucks and it's for the entire day. Well worth it.

td.1000 if you own the nicest car in the parking lot, make sure you lock it.

Kapn.K Nice thoughts but if we don't pay for our mistakes, the wisdom is lost. I've got another '08 Legacy-R with Rome Targas. I'm not hurting. It just sucks because I really had the Proto all sorted out. My kid is on an Evo and riding that GNU makes me think I might want an evo to replace the proto. I forgot to ride his while we were there.

chomps1211 Dude, that sucks for sure!

...I'm sorry but I feel "all" resorts should have a free board check and I use them when they do and "tip" as I should.

I'm really sorry to hear it.

Just a quick note:

Could we like set up some sort of system where willing forum members can donate like 5 bucks max to a guy whose lost his board? Cuz I'm willing to give a fiver to this guy.

...not that I don't feel for the guy, but a cable n lock don't cost much more than $5! I'm not going to compensate people for not locking/checking their gear! Too many people relying on blind luck leaving their gear laying around. I'm guessing he'll be buying a lock for his next trip.

Am I the only paranoid F*&#@ on this forum? I've had my shit robbed and stolen from locked cars, apartments, etc. NOTHING I own gets left anywhere unlocked or unattended!

Honestly,.. are people naive or are they clueless! Glad you're all "glass 1/2 full" kinds of ppl, but it only takes one lowlife D'bag to ruin your day/vacation!

Lockit or Loseit People!!

Ya just deal with it and try to let it go to continue to have fun.
This really sucks, you travel 1/2 way across the country to have your gear stolen. Not that being a local and having gear stolen is any better.

Hope you find a deck. Not sure if your still there on vacation, but share the story with the local shop you are looking to buy gear from. Maybe they will hook you up on a deal ?

Hope you still or were able to enjoy your trip. I'm sorry but I feel "all" resorts should have a free board check and I use them when they do and "tip" as I should.

snowklinger start thinkin of your board as BAIT.

nobody will touch it as you stare out of the corner of your eye ready to go ape shit lol.

that or don't care.

the combination of caring and being careless fucks everyone.

BearPaw Sorry to hear that. I met a long time rider (since 1985) who rides just trees (for him falling toes up into tree wells is a science project, no joke) and he lost everything last year the same way. He now puts his deck where he can see it. I would suggest getting a blade cable lock, which I did. It has a steel cable and combination. Its not perfect but it will slow thieves down having to deal with the lock instead of just walking away with the board.

Stolen 2011 NS Proto CT

Stolen from Snowmass on 3-27-14. Had it in the rack for about a half hour. Raiden Phantom Bindings(juiced(orange)).
Thing was like new. Not holding my breath but figured I'd put it out here.
