pennyring I won't tease you on this because that's my life. Everything is terrifying right now. Lots of anxiety.

Anyway, I'm still learning. Like I mean, I just figured out how to link turns. Go me! But even that was terrifying.

It was so dumb. I was on the hill last weekend. First run. I KNEW I had the skill to do better, but I just couldn't make myself do it. It wasn't that I was scared to make a move and get hurt, it was that I was scared to go to a new level. It was out of my comfort zone.

So I went to the lodge, had a beer, pulled the stick out of my ass and just did it. Woot!

And then I could do it all afternoon just fine. No liquid encouragement needed. It just took the one beer to loosen up a little. Nothing wrong with that.

Can you do that? Do it once and know you can do it? Then no big deal, right?

Just a matter of spending more time in the park I suppose.
That hesitiation is not going to help you. Sooner or later, you'll hesitiate on a rail, do a taco, have a nasty slide, and break a rib. It happened to me a few years ago, and it really shatters your confidence. I went from doing legitimite backside 540s to really sad 360s, couldn't even do it switch, so I kind of know how you feel, except your seriously need to get his whole I only do this while I buzzed (like that Indian dude on Big Bang theory who only talks to girls while drunk), or else you'll probs get hurt. Once you get more confident it helps a ton. I remember the second day I ever snowboarded, I went on my first box, did a 50/50 and felt like such a boss. I was so confident that went we went back onto the bunny hill, I actually made it down without falling. So yeah, confidence will help you a ton!!!!!!

I think I have a problem!

I have trouble committing to tricks when I'm sober.
I always chicken out and just do a 360 or a 50-50..

After a couple beers and redbull vodkas I'll throw down a decent looking 5 or 7 without hesitation. I'll also hit rails when I'm a little buzzed. I avoid the bigger ones when I'm sober.

My goal for next summer is work on my confidence, and find some buddies that want to hit park more!
