Haha maybe if they could be shown the art of welding they'd appreciate it!
I've got a couple little MIG projects planned for this summer. After seeing this thread I want to make one of these, I need old trashed boards though.

The bench that I posted can be built without welding too!!!!!
And it'll make it easier to pack and ship mine to me when ya make it!!!!!

You'll get made fun of for having to grind a weld, don't bother grinding it. I've been welding for 6 years and it's a lot of fun. Mainly MIG trying to start TIG.
This bench is awesome, if a person had a bunch of old boards you could maybe even make a little $ selling a few.

Got enought boards in the shed for seat n back, but I think I start with a simple one.
The way older brother is a builder, has a big machine/equipment park and he loves to teach. Spent a lot of time on building lots as kid, handling cement mixer - and running around with cement glued allover - brother all excited, the mother not so much . I'm still getting all excited when I get a call that there's a new project at his house and I can operate the excavator .
So far I've only built wooden stuff with his carpenter's equipment, welding is new to me, but he's eger to teach how to handle his plasma welding equipment. The bench seems to be a good project to finally try.

|fattrav||Neni, it was all fairly simple, if you've got two boards (seat and back), you'd want a slitghly different design similar to Mizus one (beggs in Taupo has the meanest ski seat, I kinda want to pilfer it every time I walk passed their shop). The concept of getting a cheap old bench seat off of Craigslist and modifying it is not I silly idea.|

|Tatanka Head||Neni, you weld? Or what approach to making this will you take? My only options are wood or a skeleton of an old bench that I would probably have to steal from some unsuspecting old person or in a brocki.|

|neni||Thanks a lot for the detail pics. Gonna try to rebuild this with some of our old boards.|
