2014.15 Season - Revelstoke, where to stay?

I wasnt there long but just stayed at samesun backpackers in town. It was a fairly social place when i was there in 2012. Guess you could stay there or a similar place and network your way to decent digs.

kalev Well the resort is pretty much 'in town' (only aprox 6 km from the downtown area) so your choices are pretty much open. I'm pretty sure the city bus even goes to the base, so you could access even without a car.

There are houses closer to the hill, but personally I think you'd be better off in the downtown area. All of the main bars / restaurants are located there as well as shops, grocery stores, liquor stores etc.

There isn't much at the base of Revelstoke (definitely nothing like Whistler or even Big White)

2014.15 Season - Revelstoke, where to stay?

Hi,
this will be my 3rd season in canada (Whistler then Big White) and planning to go to Revelstoke. Not 100% sure if ill be there from the start or sometime in late Jan.
Looking for advice on where to stay, im a single guy from the UK and ideally want to be located within a short walk to the mountain or ski in.out (thats part of the reason i chose Big White) but i figure theres a trade off between proximity to the mountain vs being close to some kind of social scene where i can meet people.
I'm gonna go for CASI L2 when im out and may try to teach for a couple of months if there are jobs available.
Can anyone give me any advice on where to stay, where the nightlife is etc etc...?
thanks
