|Argo||Even nenis German seems to have a French mix or something..... I would not be happy if a supposed English speaking guide could not comprehend but I also would not expect it given what country your in... When traveling, I take what I can get as far as language is concerned.|

I won't speak German for a month now, just because of you. My local bakery will certainly suffer from this.
Back on topic:
I'm glad to hear the feedback on these units. BSA isn't really an option out here, at least not from what I've seen when looking.

Yea, really do that. Guides are a special tribe, rather down to earth guys. If you think, dialects in Zurich are already hard to understand... well, it gets worse the deeper you move into the valleys . Met guides from Wallis which I had no chance to understand - seriously, and I'm born n raised Swiss, Engelberg area - cos their dialect was so strong. So we switched to German and even then it was hard... but there are also native English speaking ones. Good luck and have fun!

I will give my friend the heads up on that. Thanks for the heads up.

Do you understand German? If not, double check that the guide speaks proper English! Seriously. I've done a course where two Aussies were in the group. The course was sold to them being in English. Uhum... Well... it ended that we had to translate cos the guide only spoke very basic English, babbled inapprehensible constructs of mixed up words so it wasn’t instructive for us nor for the Aussies. As soon as he swapped to German, the info was good but then the Aussies complained cos they feared that info will be lost by the translation. Urgh.

Went with it because it was one I'd been considering and REI let me swap the BCA for it.
