|BurtonAvenger||It's normal in the NS, the DC decks fuck though that shit is like a cm or bigger or overlapped. Every one I ended up having to deal with on warranty had blown sidewalls of some variation cause of the way its built.|

It's a normal part of the construction process. They aren't one piece inserts.
Same with the metal edge gap - It's much more economical for the board maker to order a spool of milled square steel and warp it around than for them to order individually forged rings.
Quit worrying. You've got the NS warranty behind you.
