NWBoarder Unless your jacket is straight up old and non waterproof, a pocket is just fine. I keep mine in the inside pocket cause then it keeps it warm too. But really, I've had my little Sansa Clip pretty frozen and it still works fine. Plus, I've taken that little beast in the steamroom with me and it got soaked, but it works just fine still. Maybe iPods are just fragile.

DiscoStu I keep mine in my inside jacket pocket unless it's warmer than -5, then i chuck it inside my fleece - extra layer away from the snow. Haven't had any probs so far

Bones I got one of those cheap plastic cases from Belkin for impact protection for my Nano. And a pair of buds with inline controls for volume, pause, skip, etc. I just set up a long play list, stick it in an inside, zippered chest pocket and never touch it for the rest of the day. I've had no issues with moisture, but you could stick it in a baggie if you wanted. Just turn off the shake/shuffle feature

Milo303 Just keep it in a pocket... Does your riding coat have an mp3 pocket?

It's not going to get banged around, but make sure it can't get wet. And make sure it's in a pocket that will not unzip, both for wetness protection and to not have it fall out and lose it.

Putting it in a baggy is kinda crazy unless you plan on your pockets getting full of snow and water... Most shred gear has zippers on the pockets and most shred coats have mp3 pockets inside.

LoganCormier idk what other people do but tomorrow is my first day with music and I'm going to try either putting it in a very small plastic bag (if I can find the right size) or wrapping it in plastic wrap just to keep the moisture out. I've seen how the selector wheel works, it should still work fine with the plastic over it. Then when I'm on the lift I'll warm it up with my hand. Just my way, idk anything yet though...

I've left my phone in my jacket pocket before and it didn't get touched. Your ipod should be fine if you're aware that it's there. Just make sure the zipper stays up :/
