You've made a good choice! She should be able to ride the Lux for a few years and it should be perfect for a beginner to learn on. 143 seems like a good length, but she probably could have gone up to a 145.
And I'm loving all the little ladies!! I'm 5 feet tall (actually four-eleven-and-three-quarters) too.

|Leo||The 08 Burton Lux is my fiancee's current board. She is 4'11 (she says 5'0, but she's not fooling me) 110lbs and rides a 139cm. She loves her board. It has a mellow flex so it is a great beginner - intermediate board. Haven't heard any complaints from her about it yet. She's been snowboarding for 7 years. Although she only recently started to get into doing tricks. The Lux is also a great introduction into freestyle riding if your girl so chooses to go that route.|

Any experience with Burton Lux?
My girl has picked out the Burton Lux 143 for her first board, shes never even been out but its something she wants to do and shes very motivated so I told her id buy it for her for her burthday. This an ok board for learning? not as much info on womens board but from everything ive seen it looks A-OK. 5'0" 120 lbs
