I hate how it isn't Friday yet, well at least only
Twenty twenty twenty four hours to go
I wanna be sedated
Nothing to do, no where to go o
I wanna be sedated
Just get me to the airport, put me on a plane
Hurry hurry hurry, before I go insane
I can't control my fingers, I can't control my brain
Oh no oh oh oh oh
@ctoma I sound just like a mix of your two youngsters. I played baseball and did Karate continuously through 7th grade, about 8 or so years and quit both. I played Basketball, Roller Hokey, Football also, and did Jr. Lifeguards during the summer. I was a really busy kid with those sports, plus school work I kinda just burned out. I still played Football and Basketball for a couple years in highschool.
My pops was my baseball coach for a few of the later years and while it was cool, coaches kids have it harder when the coach isn't around. At least I did. I had a great arm and could catch any catchable ball headed my way. I earned my position on the field, but the other kids would give me a hard time about it. Now, I could always use more batting practice. I was about average there and was placed accordingly in the lineup. I was never lead off - 4th. I never said anything to my pops about the other kids because I felt it would have made it worse. Now, I am very happy he wanted to spend that much time with me, especially seeing that some parents never even came to watch their kids play. But I wouldn't have minded if he took a step back, let someone else coach, and just spent 1 on 1 time coaching me.
I apologize for that getting long winded, just wanted to share my similar situation. Lastly, maybe stoke that baseball fire again. Take him to a 1:00 pm game, grab lunch beforehand (so that you don't have to lose your arm and leg to pay for it at the stadium), get there early and try to get some autographs.
Good luck and hope your weekend turns this bad week around.
