Front flips are more difficult. They require more strength to torque your way around (you have you snap your shoulders and chest over pretty damned hard, even without a snowboard under you), and the landing is blind.
Back flips are easier because we use the largest muscles in our bodies (butt, legs, abs) to generate the momentum.
Ask anyone who has ever been a gymnast and they will tell you that back tumbling/flipping is the easier skill.

Dude is sick for sure. Very entertaining videos.
When you get to that level of riding, you're gonna be nasty regardless of your equipment. Good equipment will help of course, but that guy could outride me on a beat up old delamed Simms.
