boarderaholic Meh. Get her a Superglider set up from MilehighSkates. His stuff is inexpensive but they're all good quality components. Or if you are willing to spend a little more something like the Rayne Hustler set up with Paris 180's and Abec11 Flashbacks will work wonders. I wouldn't spend more than about $250 or so on a complete unless you know she is going to love the sport. I would stay away from Bustin just because I've found the designs of their boards to be really awful. The quality is not there and it's things like when you put the trucks on, the baseplates don't mount flush with the actual board.

Longboarders HALP PLEASE!

So the gf's bro wants a longboard for xmas. I have no freaking clue about longboarding at ALL! Besides bombing downhill. I dont think he knows much but i'll update after I talk to him.

It looks like they come with different specific styles. Like snowboards pretty much.

I was wondering if there are any begginer models or models better for learning? What brands to look for. What brands to stay away from. And all that.

I'm also assuming with the time of year they should be on sale, is that wrong to think?

So yea, any of you guys who longboard, what would be a great starting board?

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

As far as weight, shoe and height. 140, 10, 6' - off the top of my head, ill update with exact if it truly matters.
