HoboMaster Yea, I would offer 50 for the Fuse since he only wants $75 for it. The only reason to rent would be if you had never snowboarded before and you weren't sure you liked the sport. Once you know you like snowboarding and are going to do it again, there's no reason not to own your own board, it will be cheaper in the end and it will preform much better then rentals.

extra0 Rentals are almost always older, heavier boards and the boots are always thrashed from years of different shaped feet moving around in there.

there's a lot to be said for acclimation to a board...the sooner you start to meld with it, the better

fuse doesn't look bad. I'm guessing the core shot is on the mid-right hand side (he used clear p-tex to fill...lots of carbon). It isn't very big. I'd bring up the fact there's also a big gouge in the top sheet (upper right hand edge) and offer him $49. He's got so many boards, he probably wants to get rid of them, asap.

samolo burton fuse
Scroll to the bottom, he put close ups.

and for the rossingol+bindings here they are..

on another note, i chatted to a guy from porters (a website where they sell gear) online, and he said i would be better off renting the first couple days to get back on rythm (havent boarded in 4 yrs), and he said til then, not to think about getting a board. any thoughts on this?

man, this is harder than what i thought it would be.. lol

thanks for the help extra0 and hobo

extra0 post pics of the fuse and core shot

not a lot of people ride rossi and there's probably a good reason. I've only ridden one of their rentals and it sucked. Pretty sure freestyles are burton's lowest end binding.

samolo Quick question about the fuse, i talked to the guy and he said that "the board at once had a core shot but has been repaired a long time ago"
what's that supposed to mean? should i not get it??

ps got an offer for a rossingol scope 09-10 new/burton freestyle bindings deal for 200..
i think its a good price and a very good deal, but will it serve me for what i want to do? freeride with a bit of freestyle

thanks soo much.. id be lost and prolly scammed by now without you.. lol

HoboMaster I would go with the fuse, that other board looks like an old POS, the fuse will last you a lot longer.

extra0 never heard of fresh or link - they're obviously mid to late 90s equip.

however, I'm all for recycling and they don't look too beat up. I'd lowball that price by at least half to see if he just wants to get rid of it...if not, I'd look for stuff from this decade (probly be a lot lighter/easier to ollie/throw around once you progress).

samolo board AND binding for 60?
well im thinking youth boards are cheaper??

slyder I bought a 2 year old Ride with 51/50 bindings also 2 years old, for $60 for my 13 year old last year. Just a bench mark for ya, it was a good entry to mid-level board
