Since he's just learning, a board within his price range, riding style and of decent quality.. He'll be fine as long as he gets the board he wants.
clearly the OP is unsure of what HE wants. That's why he made this thread numbnuts.

purpleian907 Oops, i thought your weight was more for some reason. id say 159 wide joystick(my new board !) or fastplant
12-23-2010 06:24 PM
purpleian907 I was looking at the same boards, and i am a similar size, and riding style, but i do a little more all mountain riding. I went with the joystick because i really wanted the channel to get the better flex, adjustability, dampening and everything else you want in a binding.

Besides the joystick i would definetly get the fastplant, that thing has so much pop, especially for a rockered board.

for sizes, id say Joystick 163 Wide, or the fastplant 162 wide, but you could go shorter.

They aren't too much board for you. None of them are stiff so you will be good. Learning on a stiff board is going to be tough. Furthermore, they are rocketed boards which will help with edge catches. You will be able to grow into these boards and won't be left wanting more. Well... You will want more to add to your quiver since sbing is super addicting

Now go slap that shop guy that said that.
haha i was thinking the exact same thing!!! he said for me I want the 156 artifact rocker or a lib tech banana

then again he also told me some of these boards are a little to much board for me to learn on? again accurate? or will i be alright?

Nobody is choosing for the guy. Just answering questions that he has to help him narrow the choices.

Like me for example, I didn't outright say to choose a specific board
Ok, TRIGGER.
