andru1313 Thanks Snowolf. I appreciate the advice. I will give it a shot this weekend. I need to adjust my bindings a bit I think I am to duck footed right now. Might have to dial them back.

andru1313 I don't think I am being clear. I can heel stop. I also can go on my heel side. I have to over work the board it seems. I am pushing my body hard to get it.
I seem to be gun shy ever since I hurt my knee. I am putting alot of pressure on my toes it seems. I need to get more of hips and shoulders into it. I am comfortable on teh edge of the board. I want to be able to turn quicker push the board into the turns get it to react instead of waiting for the reaction. Does that make sense?

YourSoCool i have only been out a few times as well, and i am in the opposite boat...i have cracked my head so many times trying to stop toe side, i quit trying...

i found that i would go fakie too when stopping heel side...i figured out all you have to do is put the weight back on your front foot/toe...i though it would make me catch the front edge, but it doesnt...you just kinda slide out of the stop...

course, that could be wrong...but thats what i think about when doing it and it works for me

They should have taught you how to stop then... everybody that I've talked to that has taken a lesson said they had to "skate" in a circle for about 10 mins to get used to one-footing... then strap in and learn how to balance/stop.... Maybe it's just me but I think stopping is kinda important ...

On another note... I really had trouble heelside for a couple days.. like stated above I found out that I was planting to hard with my back foot... which was making me go fakie... which in turn would make me indo..

Heel turns make me scurrred

Ok I am a n00b. I have been boarding 4 times now. I originally thought that it was an equipment issue but now I am not so sure. I am able to ride so so. I can do a toe turn and toe stop really well. I try and get on my heel side and either i over turn... Go goofy foot.... or fall. I can heel stop but seems the more speed i pick up the more difficult my heel side gets. I am not sure but i think my stance is part of the problem. I feel that I am pushing my feet to make the turn to much. I can seem to get my hips to make the movement or I am trying to push it to hard.

the conditions were really awful one day very icy and i caught the heel edge and it Popped me straight in the air and i landed on my knee. Had to make a trip to the hospital that day. Just a bad bruise. I am a tall 6'2 and I skied for over 10 years. I want to make sure i learn correctly. I really enjoy riding and have been going every weekend but I fear that I am not improving but getting worse. any help would be great thanks.
