Bit of Board Advice. Will the old girls still cut it?

Hi guys, first post here. I'm 6'3 and weigh 240 pounds. Most riding is resort riding

I have in the cupboard a Burton Supermodel 68 (from the late 90's) and a Salomon unibody 400 fr163 (02-03 maybe) and was wondering if they are still reasonably worth taking to my Japan ski trip in a couple of weeks.

I know that the Burton is more flexy than the Salomon as the trend seemed to be heading to stiffer boards. Can anyone explain the recent trends in boards as opposed to the times mine are from. The Burton has a longer nose than the SAlly made for powder conditions as Japan is supposed to be, and not relavent to the pretty poor cover we get in Australia.

Should I take my own or hire a latest season model maybe.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Leigh
