Review: thirtytwo STW Boa G/B/W
Hey everyone, recently this season I picked up the thirtytwo STW BOA in Gray/Black/White to replace my Burton Freestyles (Size 10, barely used, for sale.)
First off, they're beautiful, and are amazing. They use the BOA lacing system created by Boa Technology (Lacing System & Lace Locks for Sports Equipment - BOA Technology),
What this is, is a cable instead of laces attached to a crank, this allows you to get out on the slopes a bit faster, and are easier to adjust,
while they DO loosen up, all you have to do is twist the crank, and when you want out of your kicks, you pull on the crank and push the tongue out.
With this technology comes the ability to laces your boots, per say, to your liking a bit more than laces without ripping up your fingers.
You may say: But can't they break? Well, I would assume so, eventually, but all BOA boots come with a extra set of cables and a tool to put them in.
These boots are incredibly comfortable, and are heat moldable, allowing you to eliminate pressure points and fit it to your comfort in under 20 minutes. A
small amount of time to give up for eternal comfort! The internal part of the boot will tend to move around a little, but not enough to notice while on the slopes.
These boots fit me incredibly well, I have a slightly wide foot and a very high step-in, they fit me perfectly. These boots also do flex quite well right out of the box, making them incredibly comfortable to walk around in the lodge with. They also break-in very fast.
I picked them up for 149.99, a great price. Came with a poster, too!
In conclusion: The STW boa's are a fantastic boot, the downsides being the crank loosening. Because of this, I must give these boots a 8.5/10.
