torn meniscus is worst case scenario innit? and what i hear, if you have that, then you more than know about it! aside from the clicks and locks, it farking hurts!
patella tracing sounds like an imbalance in leg musculature, which is easy to do if you are a fit and active type person, albeit in specific ways. the muscles which usually are balanced around the joint, become less so if more are used than others, hence the trace skew. physio should sort that one out.
and if it is just inflammation, then damn! ain't we a pair of robopusses!
i'd like option number 2 please.... (but what the hell do i know!!?)

no stress. i know RICE and have used it time and time again, inclusive of anti-inflams too.
but i am more eager to find resolution rather than symtom management.
tis why i do not like to wear bracing equipment; if my musculature in some way is inadequate, i would rather take time out and train up the ineffectual element, than to fall into a trap of equipment dependency.

when you say 'inside' do you mean on the inside leg, ie where your knees might knock together?
or inside as in directly underneath the patella?
to answer your Q, it is 'yes' to the second translation.
and sadly, i have been to the quack several times and frankly he cannot be arsed. i will be getting a second and indeed a third referral and even if it means throwing stuff around the waiting room, i will get an MRI! grrrrrr!!!

is there pain on the inside part of your knee??? thats where the pain is when you tear your meniscus! do the RICE methoud after you are done riding. Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation (RICE)-Topic Overview
If you are still having problems after doing that i hate to say it but it is time to see the good ol witch doctor

so after 6 days of 5 hours + riding, my knee was sore on a nightly basis.... ie 'hot knife stabbing the front of the knee cap' type feeling when going up the stairs.
whilst riding things weren't too bad, altho a few chairlifts had off ramps at a height which caused a tweak.
it seems that the shooting agony arises when my knee is bent at a certain angle and then the pain lasts at a constant intensity for as long as this angle of flex is maintained. and so if i am riding along with the knees flexing away, it can pass thru the 'pain zone' quickly and without consequence.... but when held at that point.... well it brings on a sweat in no time!
getting old blows bollocks! and not in a good way!!
anyone know why this might be?

i have a robo-cop knee now lol they gave me this brace that is hinged ... told me i can ride as LONG as my knee feels strong enough...
also I talked renee .... lets all either meet up at hooters or old chicago on colorado!
