I only went to Grouse once last year, but I liked their park much better. They had like 10-foot jumps, beginner boxes on Paradise that were at snow level (no ollie, no ramp), etc. Side Cut was closed at the time so I never got a look at that park area.

Big problem on Seymour is that because it's so snowboard oriented, the park crew biases all their builds towards intermediate and advanced riders. Even the so-called 'beginner' park doesn't really cater to beginners. This also means no small ramps for learning small jumps, and side hits although numerous get worn down in a hurry.

Anyway, end rant, but I'm having trouble finding a small jump to work with ever since the crew mowed down the little one off Mushroom.

Nothing wrong with being proud of your skill. I'm pretty proud of my progress this year. At 13 you're at the perfect level for learning new stuff -- all the ability of youth to snap back from just about anything, and not enough common sense to realize you're about to kill yourself

Yep. You'd think that skipping a few steps would speed you along, but it actually makes you more tentative with the bigger stuff.
